Clarkson 5th grade teach Kim Dennison and students receive the Aboud Financial Literacy Award

Clarkson Elementary 5th grader teacher Kim Dennison has been presented with the Abound Financial Literacy Community Partnership Award, one of seven teachers selected from the central Kentucky region.

The award was launched this year in honor of Teacher of Appreciation Month to highlight the work of educators who are creative, consistent, and passionate about providing financial education to their students.

“Kim’s commitment to sharing Abound’s financial literacy curriculum and partnering with the Credit Union to bring in guest speakers and activities to engage students and measure what they learned sets her apart,” said Leitchfield Branch Manager Heidi Baldwin.

The EverFi Vault program sponsored by Abound is typically taught in grades 4 - 6 , but can be geared toward all ages and has been taught throughout Grayson County Schools.

“It is very impactful and helps students truly understand how money works,” continued Baldwin.  “I have had students that are now in high school tell me that they remember our program and how it taught them so much.  Our EverFi program will stay with our students for their lifetime!”
