GCHS seniors who have earned industry certification in their given pathway were celebrated during a breakfast sponsored by the Grayson County Chamber of Commerce.
Guest speaker Jennifer Priddy of Kelly Beekeeping shared her experiences at both GCHS and in the working world, along with encouragement for the soon-to-be graduates.
Supt. Doug Robinson told the seniors how impressed the community has been with their skills and drive to become certified. ‘I get multiple compliments all the time,” he said.
The Class of 2021 had a 63% pass rate, and 47 % of those were in more than one pathway. CTE programs give students not only academic and technical, but life skills to succeed on their next journey and beyond. According to Tech Center Director Matt Hayes, 97% of those that pass an End of Program assessment or industry certification go on to be successful in life.
