Grayson County Judge-Executive Kevin Henderson has declared the week of February 10 - 14, 2025 as “Family Resource Youth Services Center Coordinators Appreciation Week,” celebrating the efforts and work the local FRYSC Coordinators put into each Grayson County School. Each FRYSC Coordinator serves families and children daily, by eliminating non-cognitive barriers to learning as a means to enhance student academic success.
On hand for the signing were back, left to right: Barbara Allen (GCHS YSC) , Angela Gibson (Director of Pharmacy OTLRMC), State Representative Samara Heavrin, State Senator Stephen Meredith, Kim Cannon (Caneyville/ Lawler FRC), Ann Brooks (Clarkson FRC), Shalee Watson (GCMS / Wilkey FRYSC), Jailer Jason Woosley, Sheriff Norman Chaffins and seated, Judge Executive Kevin Henderson.
FRYSC Coordinators offer services to the more than four thousand students throughout Grayson County Schools. Across Kentucky, 900 Family Resource and Youth Services Centers work in the schools to provide direct support to children and families. Recent surveys report that educators, parents, and community partners feel that the FRYSCs are a necessary component of Kentucky’s educational programming.
FRYSC Coordinators collaborate with multiple local resources, including the Grayson County Alliance Food Pantry, Community Action, the UK Extension Office, Adult Education, Mental Health Care facilities, individuals, churches, businesses, and other civic groups to provide basic needs for families.
