At the Regional Governor's Cup at South Warren, GCMS Academic Team placed 4th overall! At the John Hardin Archery Tournament on Saturday, GCMS placed 1st out of 8 middle schools with a score of 3091. Brynn Bessette shot a 271 and took 2nd place out of 75 middle schools girls. Isaac Fulkerson shot a 272 and took 2nd place out of 94 boys. Austin Cook shot a 272 and 3rd place out of the 94. And, Case Cannon took 5th place with a score of 271. Way to go, archery! #PursueThePrize

GCMS is proud to announce that we have earned back-to-back recognition from US News & World Report as a "Best Middle School." In determining rankings, half of the formula assessed the scores themselves and the other half incorporated the test results in the context of socioeconomic demographics. In other words, the top-ranked schools are all high-achieving and have succeeded at educating all their students. On a three-year cycle, GCMS garnered the recognition in 2022, and now again in 2025. We are very proud of our students and staff for maintaining excellence!

In math, Bentley Gary placed 5th and Evan Templeman placed 2nd.

In social studies, Latham Clark placed 5th and Trinity Clemons placed 1st.
In language arts, Jocey Stinnett placed 3rd and Kady Cook placed 1st.
In arts and humanities, Maci Williams placed 4th, Jocey Stinnett placed 2nd, and Kady Cook placed 1st.
In written composition, Landry Crowder placed 4th and Kady Cook placed 1st.
